Educationist calls for government intervention in private institutions.

Following a courtesy visit by the Nigerian youth Advocacy for good governance initiative (NYAGGI), to Hasab Heritage school in Abuja on Thursday, the Executive Director of the school, Mrs Hassanat Abubakar while receiving commendation by the group for her contribution and achievement in educational upliftment in the country said " Educational system in Nigeria need full attention of the government, the negligence of the sector can cause a tremendous damage to the country. If you check the result of this year Jamb, more than 40% failure were recorded. What is the government doing in curbing the menace, nothing.
She further complaint on the challenges facing the private schools in the country, using herself as an example " so many private schools are folding up due to the exorbitant levies placed on these schools by the Area Council, some of them cannot meet-up the payment,which includes tax. Meanwhile, most of the private schools are regarded as the bedrock to education system, but government decided to isolate itself from the system.
She however called on the government to intervene in the situation by partnership and making the environment friendly for people to establish schools, saying that construction of good roads and reduction of levies Imposed by the government should be reduce to enable the school function effectively.
Meanwhile, the national coordinator of NYAGGI, comrade Hakeem Alabi, commended the effort of Mrs Abubakar, saying that, her role towards educational development in the country cannot be over emphasize. Thus, prompt the Nigerian youth to recognised her effort and also to encourage her do continue doing the good work as many youth are following her footpath.
High point of the event was the presentation of certificate of credence by the group to the educationist.
