Commissioner task youth on promotion of unity in the country By Kabir Akintayo Abuja. The Niger state commissioner of information, culture and tourism, Jonathan Tsado Vista has reiterated the need for peaceful coexistence among the teeming youth in the country. The commissioner while receiving the delegate of the Nigerian youth advocacy for good governance initiative (NYAGGI), yesterday in Niger for a commendation of a job well-done and contribution to the growth and development of the youth in the country. He said that, youth is the bedrock of any nation, and a division among them is equally a threat to the National unity which should in the first place be protected by the same youth, adding that the youth are not the leader of tomorrow but today. Making reference to the quit notice given by some Arewa youth and other associate recently, he said " Nigeria belongs to everybody irrespective of where we found ourself , either by tribe, religious or language. Let's continue to build this nation and do what will unite us by taking a step in changing the course of the country" He further encouraged the youth to always believe in themselves and serve as ambassador of peace by emulating the quote of the former head of state, Gen Yakubu Gowon that says "to keep Nigerian one is a task that must be done by all of us". Meanwhile, the national coordinator of the group, Hakeem Alabi. Expressed dissatisfaction on the recent threat issued by the youth of the country adding that unity can bring success. " combining the strength of all of us can change the cause of the recent situation, we need to leave by example before we can assume the mantle of leadership, he said.
